At a time when the world is watching Baltimore protests and unrest, we felt it was especially important to share some good news about someone born and raised in Charm City, who is a community builder. Vincent started his acting career in “Hairspray” directed by John Waters, and recently co-hosted the Producers Guild of America Oscars Viewing Party. With 110 acting credits on IMDB, he has been seen in “House of Cards” (also filmed in Baltimore), “Mad Men”, “Sex in the City 2” and many more films and TV shows.

Enjoy our exclusive Q&A with Vincent De Paul about this Daytime Emmy Award win and his career:

1. What do you think is the magic of “The Bay” that resulted in a Daytime Emmy win?

The true magic of "The Bay the Series" is it's creator Gregori J. Martin and his vast knowledge of daytime and prime time programming. Our show has been named as a hybrid between two different genres merging together to create the compelling stories of the families of the Garretts and Ramos, and Nelsons. Although I have worked on the show for many seasons as Father Leone giving spiritual guidance to The Bay family, I was asked last season by Gregori to assist the already amazing crew to produce.

2. How does it feel to be the only person from Baltimore to win a Daytime Emmy?

I know that I am the only South East Baltimorean from Conkling Street that indeed won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in New Approaches. I am truly humbled by the honor from The Academy of Television Art & Sciences. Being a member of NATAS has been a wonderful experience. To be recognized collectively with the fellow producers and executive producers Gregori J. Martin and Kristos Andrews is such an honor. As a member of the Producers Guild of America, it is great to be recognized for your contributions by The Academy.

3. Why are you mailing your engraved Emmy back to your hometown of Baltimore? Where will it go?

My Emmy will be visiting a few cities, including my South Beach Home and in LA for a photo shoot with the other winners from “The Bay.” The first stop is in the city I was born in Baltimore, Maryland. I am going to place it next to the beautiful black and white portrait of my devoted mother Maria G. Zannino. My Mom inspired me and my seven siblings to be courageous, including Joseph, Rosemarie "MiMi", Charles, Felicia, Salvatrice, Kathleen, and Domenico. Each are accomplished in many different disciplines. She gave me such great confidence and wisdom that I use everyday producing and acting in Hollywood. She would speak about how proud she was of her children, and I know she is looking down smiling at me for my Emmy win.

4. What inspired you to be an actor/producer?

As a producer, I was inspired by the great Stanley Kramer who produced and directed "GUESS WHO IS COMING TO DINNER". Kramer was a great producer, who believed in placing a mirror to society and showing how we could be more accepting of diversity and to encourage growth in communities with his films. Stanley’s wife Karen and daughter Kat Kramer are wonderful friends, and we often talk about how great he was in his many contributions to the silver screen.

Last evening at the “House of Cards” academy screening, they congratulated me for my win and I was so honored to received that accolade. Also I have received so many congratulatory notes from amazing designer Sue Wong, directors and fellow cast members.

As an actor, I have been inspired by Ernest Borgnine, Henry Fonda, and the many accomplishments of Johnny Depp, Sean Penn, Charlie Hunum, Tom Hardy, Leo Di Caprio, Wes Ramsey, Gerard Butler, Joseph Fiennes, and Jude Law. They each represent organic actors who give such a revelation to all the characters they play. I have worked with each of them or met these great actors in person. I have such great respect for them.

5. What advice do you have for other aspiring actors/producers?

I feel that you should always surround yourself with like-minded people who believe in your work and also are artists. I think that art breeds art. Similarly my sister, Felicia Baker, has an amazing gallery called the Highlandtown Gallery. She showcases established and emerging artists in Baltimore, Maryland. What an inspiration to celebrate each other and they work.

My final advice is always persevere, never give up and BELIEVE in what you are doing and you will achieve. In closing, I am fortunate to work with the great talent who are all soap stars and great performers on “The Bay” (in pre-production for an exciting fourth season) and the release of my new movie, "A Beverly Hills Christmas" directed by Brian Skiba. In this film, I co-star with so many great performers including- Dean Cain, John Savage, Donna, Spangler, Kirsten Lea, Brandon Tyler Russell, Aaron Lee and Ravin Spangler .

As you can see, the people of Baltimore are very proud (and charming). Congratulations to Vincent De Paul, and the cast of “The Bay the Series” on your Daytime Emmy Awards win. And don’t forget to watch Season 4.
